Juergen Schmidtchen studied technical physics at the Technical University of Munich and worked as a development engineer at German Aerospace (DASA), nowadays part of Airbus, before he started his work in the field of intellectual property rights 1992. He was trained at a patent attorney firm in Munich, at the Patent Senate of District Court Munich 1, at the German Patent Office and the German Federal Patent Court. He was registered as a German Patent Attorney in 1996 and as a European Patent Attorney in 1997.
Juergen Schmidtchen has been a Partner of our patent attorney firm since 2000. He engages for and forwards the interests of our clients based on his experience and holistic view of a case. Defining the core aspects of a case and the expectations and goals is especially important to him. Juergen Schmidtchen sees himself as a go-between the German and European and the non-European legal cultures. 2011 he obtained a Master of Law (LL.M.) in the field of European Industrial Property Rights.
